I-80 to 41 north runs you right into Hammond,,,,,just follow the signs for the Horeshoe casino

Navy Pier is 18 miles away,,,,,how long of a ride depends on water conditions !!!!!

Question: are you slipping in Hammond for the week-end????

If so have a good time Hammond is a great place to party....BUT there launch there SUX, the ramp itself is awsome but getting to it is another story, long lines, no place to park truck+trailers, and the entrance if tight to get thru with a boat that size......there are better options if you are just looking to launch .... TRUST ME

You could launch at Pastricks in East Chicago and then run your boats over to Hammond. The parking and launch are fine there. It is only a few miles to get over to Hammond by boat from Pastricks. If you have never been to the airshow you will enjoy it.

Parking isn't THAT bad. They will shuttle you out to your truck in the parking lot. As for the lines...yes, you will encounter them if you launch/retrieve at peak times...and you will encounter typical ramp idiots...but its not horrible. I went to pull out last weekend on Sunday at 5 pm (prime time)...I was the 15th trailer in line and was still out of the water in 45 minutes.

Enough 4 Play,
Make sure you ask for a gate key, sometimes they forget to give you one (its $20 deposit).
The logistics around the ramp are crappy, but the nice marina is worth it for a weekend. Pucci's will deliver pizza/beef/food right to your slip if needed, or eat at the casino too.
You'll love the air show. The "window" they run in is along North of North Ave beach, South of Diversey Harbor. This is a few minutes north of Navy pier. Get "reasonably" inland and the jets will fly a few hundred yards right over your boat. You'll feel the heat!!
