so when I am buying my new Yukon the salesman tells me that they etch the vin on the glass of all their vehicles, it's part of Virginia's heat program (help eliminate auto theft) I have never heard of this before, we go to the F&I guy and they have a $299 charge for the etching on top of their $399 processing fee. I was a little bent but they priced the truck well so I am going ahead with the purchase I got home and searched etching and it's a load of crap, costs them $20 or so and the state police will do it for free, what BS, is this a scam that all dealers are doing now?
