I am wondering what everyone's thoughts are about this.

Here are my criteria:

1) new pleasure boat
2) twin engine deep vee-hull
3) staggered engine configuration
4) preferably a custom boat
5) 30-33 feet only
6) fairly new and advanced step design
7) 100-120mph top speed on Merc 525s or Merc 700SCis
8) very stable ride at 100 mph - rides flat
9) high build quality boat

That's really all I want!!

When I say high build quality unfortunately we have to leave out some of the big names of the past whose products went into the toilet.

I have been considering the following:

1) Howard 28 Bullet (great bottom, too bad it's a single engine)
2) Hustler 29 Rockit (great bottom, too bad it's a single engine)
3) Laveycraft 32 Nuera (I know nothing about their bottom design)
4) Hallett 300-T or 335-T (I know nothing about their bottom design)

I am unaware of all my options - I'm looking for additional options.

I'm also looking for a discussion that compares these bottom designs to each other and to other manufacturer's bottom designs that fit the high-speed stability criterion.

All thoughts and input appreciated!

You might want to get a bigger boat or knock the speed to below 100. Jo

Pretty easy answer , you should probably look at the Sunsation 32 XXR, the guys at Sunsation already have this boat running at over 100mph and the design, look and build quality speak for themselves.

the sunsation 32 is not a staggered boat but it should run tripple digits with 600+hp per side

Deep offshore boat..that does not hit 100mph with 525's..but will hit 93mph..also does not come staggered....big 33' boat with the same size cockpit as their 37.. Good Luck.

Not going to find many staggerred boats in that range.

The Hustler 344 Cheetah is really 32-33' plus the molded in swim platform. It was run 95-96 with 525's.

Donzi 35 ZX - 94 MPH with 525's. 33' boat with 2 foot molded platform.

Like Jassman said, the 33 AT is a good option as well, but it will be a much bigger boat.

Sunsation 32 will run 97 with 525's. 30.5 foot boat plus the platform.

If Rage Powerboats, formerly Activator, revives the 32, it's a fast boat with twin engines. I know they're side-by-side, but on a boat of that size, staggering the motors is really going to eat up cockpit space, making your passenger area quite small.

We would entertain building one with Ilmors!

Only staggered boat in that range is the Fountain 33 Lightning (i think). Not too many of them on the market.

Sounds like the Sunsation would be the fastest boat in this size range with 525s.

Can anyone shed some light on Sunsation's bottom design and how it handles at high speed?

What about the Laveycraft Nuera 29 or 32?
