Default bravo1 v solas L4 v revolution 4

wanting to buy a 4 blade for my boat to replace my Mirage plus 25p.,.,.,

any thoughts on non-thru-hub props also....? Back when i used to run a tahiti hull with a beefed up 200 with more river boat guys they all ran choppers and i had a lightning et which seemed to give way more grab with the advantages of a 3 blade so you didnt lose top end.....

doesnt seem like any bigger boat guys do this though!

The chopper and Lightning props are not designed to work on the I/O boats, but pad bottom outboard boats, stv's mod vp's, outboard cat's ect.

Why do you wnat to change? What is your goal?

The 4 blades to try are the Vensura and the Revolution 4. The Vensura is 14" dia. prop and the Rev4 is a 14 5/8" dia. prop.

What power are you running at what speed (gps), rpm's and drive ratio?

my desire is more hole shot and better cruise and hopefully the ability to stay planed out at a lower speed

i do have some fine tuning to do this weekend (going to go through and jet the carb and do all adjustments and see where i am at) it is dying out on the big end at around 4500 but i have made 60mph out of it which is only like 13% slip...

the motor is a 502 in a mirage 217... pretty much regular 502mag roller cam motor with a single plane mani and a holley 9022 plus dui hei distributor

ok so vesuras are lighter smaller blade props with alot of bow lift and only go up to 23p... not sure that is going to work but looks further into is the rev is 14-5/8 vs the bravo1 is 15-1/4.....

with the rev i would have to get a 23 or a 25
but with a bravo i could get a 24....

this is my last message for a bit... i feel like the crazy girlfriend who has sent 15 messages in 2.3 minutes

the mirage prop is spotless..... i couldnt sell it, i dont think unless i get something that makes me super happy....

mercury suggests the mirage the bravo and the rev....
says mirage is the best selling, most used go-fast boat prop on the market
they say bravo is the is standard equipment on my go fast boats that any other prop
and the rev 4 says it is great and offers better hole shot and mid-range over the mirage.....

my theory is... they dont talk the rev up much so it cant be better than the bravo and a 24 seems a bit more fitting for my motor... but i wont know until after this weekend and i make some changes.....who knows, maybe i do some tuning and jet the poor girl up and i can step up even bigger as i am reasonably sure it leans out on the top and falls flat

I'm going to suggest that you seek specialized help - Brett at Bblades. You won't find better advice anywhere.

Every boat is different but I LOVE the Rev 4 on my boat. Much better bow lift and responds to trim better than a Bravo. I can't comment on the Solas.

I've tried several props on my boat and the Rev 4 is the best handling with great planing and cruise. Also, it was just as fast as a Mirage + with slightly lower rpm(like 100).

I don't know why they think the B1 is better for your boat than the M+, Rev4 and Vensura. It has less bowlift and needs more power to spin. I'll bet you anything the rev4 is better on your boat. A B1 prop on a 21' boat, without steps, notch ect. don't make any sense to me. Also remember the 24" is actually much more like a 23". I would shoot for 5000 rpm's with that motor. If you can get your hands on one, I still think you should try the Vensura as well.

Not a bad idea for sure.

bblades just told me that the bravo1 was actually better for my app... he said it will give me the dig i want with a little more blade and diameter..... he also said it has a bit more lift of the whole boat for that same reason... he ended by saying i would drop a couple mph of the very top and a rev 4 would be closer to the same but if i got the prop labbed ti would be no different in mph and have more dig then a rev still

with that knowledge i am buying ItsAllgoods 24p bravo 1 that has been repitched to actually make it that big, not undersized like the factory ones.... hoping it all works good and i will still keep the 25p mirage+ if i still want to get the few mph back and dont care about cruise.
