It's official, http://speedonthewater.com/in-the-ne...-shootout.html.
That's the "bad"news. The good news is he'll be around the docks and accessible—Scott is a great ambassador for not just the Shootout but high-performance boating.

Dave is still very much missed as a fierce competitor in Offshore Powerboat Racing (Bud Select and Bud Light) and I always had hoped to see him racing again but it doesn't look that way. It appears that Dave Scott is retiring and he is definitely one of the top racers and ambassadors of the sport. Wish him nothing but the best in his retirement. Dave Scot has left us all with a lot of great memories over the years and I really appreciated him being part of the sport.

You truly have always been a class act and brought a significant midwest appeal to offshore boating!!!!! Your records speak for themselves but your generosity and professionalism have made it a joy to be around. Hope to see you back in the cockpit for some fun runs soon!!!
