Solid event turns 20, http://speedonthewater.com/in-the-ne...e-entries.html.
Although photographer captured plenty of contemporary performance boats in this run, he also caught a few classics, two of which appear in this story.

Thanks Matt !
People really need to put this event on their "To Do List" for next year !
The location has so much to offer and is one of the key reasons why this event is working so well.
It's been the best kept secret...
I can recall many years ago that I wanted to go to this event. One reason or another perhaps the distance and conflicting with my day job I could never make it. Thanks to the organization for making it happen for me. It was well worth every mile of the trip ! Just ask anyone that attended this run last weekend.
Rule # 1: Never trust the weather man !
I know we lost a few boats because of the forecast, but let it be known, rain or shine, these guys will make sure you have a good time !!!

One of the secrets seems to be the Naval Memorial Museum located at the run site, complete with two battleships and a submarine which can be toured. We made sure we arrived early enough Friday to walk through the ships and sub.
Very enlightening, takes your respect for the enlisted men who spent months at sea aboard these ships protecting our freedom to another level.
Plus, one of the ships was the only 100,000 hp boat at the event. Too bad it sucked a small sailboat into the sea strainers which could not be removed in time for the poker run's flag drop, so she never left the docks.

Also, you are only about 15 miles from Niagara Falls. Certainly worth a visit also...
