I would like to take a ride down the Hudson and pay my respects for our fallen hero's with a moment of silence in front of the freedom tower. I know I may get criticized about going boating on an anniversary or such a tragic day. But as a boating family I'm sure most of us wont drive into the city to pay our respects. So if we can get together, take time out of our busy life, and remember those who sacrificed all i think it would be respected. We would need to be onsite by 8:30am to have a moment of silence at 8:46 am and another at 9:02 am to represent the two times the towers were struck. I think we will need to fly our flags high off our boats and be proud to be Americans. I'm not even sure if we can get close to the site but its worth a try.

I'm in, once this storm is gone I will reach out to some contacts I still have with NYPD.Will try to talk to someone in harbor to find out what if any restrictions will be in place that day.It should not be an issue.

And as a former member of NYPD I take no issue at all of doing this run as suggested.

the hudson will be closed on 9-11 but on 9-10 we will race there !

Anthony, we are really going to try to make this one, if the builders are on time or near being finished on our building we will be there. I'm still not really convinced I want to put the rig in the salt, but I would like to run again down there with you guys.

nordic95...........great idea, I can't imagine anyone would criticize you guys. Flying the flags is an awesome idea. Enjoy guys and have a safe ride.

You might want to wear your life vests down there. It might help keep the cops off you.

Anthony,what time are we going to need to be ready to leave Stony Point 0700?

By 8 the very latest. Some of the guys I spoke to are coming down the night before. They may launch and get a slip so they are ready the next morning. I may tow down on Saturday and do a little boating, then leave it on the trailer at the marina till Sunday then just launch early. All really depends on weather and tides.
