Default Changing Alpha/MR-1 shift cable....

....from old style to new style....how tough is it on a twin engine set up like my Formula 255 Liberator? Hell...I can't even see the damn thing

Has any one done this or should I have a mechanic do this one? Anyone have an idea what the rate would be on this?

We did the starboard side when we replaced the transom plate & gimbal assembly so it's good. The port side is kind of stiff by comparison and it's tough to get into reverse.

Just keep working at it and it will go. Relatively easy fix. Once it hits the bell housing push it off to an angle with a long screwdriver. Pull it up.

i did both of mine. one was the older styler where it threaded in from the back. had to pop out the drive bell housing. bought a die kit from harbor fright and threaded it all the way through to accept the new style that you get from quicksilver. was pretty easy job.
