Launched my boat today and went to put the drive in and the drive motor just clicks? The drive is in the trailer position so it clicks if I try to put it in or out. Has anyone had this happen to them before and if so any advice on this would be appreciated.

OK. Here's What I've done so far. I jumped the down solenoid and got the drive to go in. When I went to raise the motor back up(out) the up solenoid just clicks. So I have 2 bad solenoids. This sounds like a bigger issue than just a bad solenoid.
Does anyone have any advice???

One other observation I had is that the solenoids have a red jumper wire connecting them both. Would this explain why the trim up doesn't work either? The chances of both solenoids going bad on the same day seems pretty slim to me.

That's the hot supply wire to the selonoids. You will see a large blue and large green wire coming out of the pump motor going to the solenoids. Jumping from that red wire to the blue (up) or green (down) should make the pump run up or down. If the selonoids are clicking they are getting power from the trim switch and should be working. There are points inside the selonoids which make the high amp connection between the heavy red wire and the blue and green motor wires. They get burned after a while and no longer make a good enough connection to run the motor.

OK, changed both solenoids tonight and still getting a click when I try to raise or lower the outdrive. As I posted earlier I jumped the solenoids and the motor worked. Is it a bad wire??

test the hot wire on both sides of the solenoid for current, than have a buddy test the blue and green wires while you hit the switch and see if there is any voltage passing through them. Power probe would be great if you have one...

you need to hook up the 10 ga red wire to the battery! the solenoidds will still click even if theirs no power going to the red wire. check the main power lead and ground lead but doubt its a ground because you got it to`go down when you junped the solenoid..
