Default Anyone make 40over 502 slugs that wont break my piggybank?

Dropped a valve seat which scored up cyl wall enough we dont know if just honing will clean it up,
its 30over now but I would like to not go 60over in case it blows up again (hopeful aint I)
Just wondering if there is a reasonable 40over slug I can use?

+ 1 for srp.if its .030 over now i would not worrie about going another .030..its at 4.500 now and i think max bore for your engine is 4.600...stock is 4.470.

Why not just sleeve the one cylinder and just replace the one slug? Looking at about $100 for the sleeve, maybe another $200 to rehone, and engine rebalancing may not be necessary if same make and weight piston is dropped back in. Of course, if the engine already has a lot of hour on it this may be a moot point, but I'm not scared of an engine that has been sleeved.

Just a thought...

Doubt if only going .010" more will clean up. That's only taking .005" off the wall.

Oh, bummer. Yep, they do have a tendency to share shrapnel from cylinder to cylinder. That is where a divided plenum or individual intake runners would be helpful.
