Default New (to me) Fountain 35 - Exhaust questions

Just brought home my first Fountain - 2007 35 Lightning after a 3 state road trip.
It has 525s with CMI headers and no silent choice exhaust.
The exhaust connection at the drive is capped off.
What happens to the hydrodynamics if the prop is not flowing any air? Or is it flowing air from behind the transom somehow. Props are 5 blade Maximus with no flair at the exhaust outlet. It exibits the slip unitl it catches slow take off. Not sure if this affects the planing ability.
I believe I should ask this question in the prop forum but wanted to see if any other 35 owners have dealt with this.
Does the engine controller need to be remapped if I install mufflers?

Welcome to the fountain family! .. You are ok the way the boat is set up and there is no need for remaping the motors if you add mufflers. I have a set of mufflers that mount on the outside of the transom if you are interested..
ps Hey Tim Hope your summer went well!

Just incase you're new to bigger boats and you didn't know, are your tabs down when you take off? No one told me and it took 2 years before I figured out the difference they can make.

I start off with the drives all the way in and the tabs all the way down. Bring it up slow to about 2500-2800 and let the speed come up. Usually one side or the other lose grip and the rpm of that side jumps to about 4000, I back it off and turn slightly in that direction and it will catch again, as the bow starts to drop I bring the tabs up slowly and both sides will fully catch and it takes off. Then bring the drives and tabs to the neutral positions.
I have driven non stepped 38 fountain which all I had to do was a little tab and hit the power. Also drove a 2004 fountain 42 with the same power setup as mine and it acts the same way as mine.
