Default V6 ign module questions?????

I have a pair of 671 blower motors in my Cig and I am using the V6 modules. I have the timing set at 30 deg total. Even though the modules allow for 14 deg of advance,it seems to be much shorter than that. I checked it at 1200 rpm and the timing was 22 deg. It is a little tough to start when hot.

I thought I had read something on this before.

Kurt.

Kurt, at 1200 RPM some of the advance is aready in. Because it is an 8 instead of a 6 the module thinks it is 1600 RPM. Check it while cranking or at 500 rpm (hard to do)or so. What gauge battery cables do you have?

Yeah, like Marc said, a 14 deg. V-6 mod will only give you an advance range of about 6 to 10 Deg. when used on a V-8

How about the V8-20R or V8-HP module they both have 20* advance if you can get away with 10*initial timing?
