Default Cutting out ...cough cough..died....wont even pop

Now, the boat was running great and I was low on fuel so i pulled into this nice little restraunt and got $80 worth. Chilled for a bit and then took off.

I was not on plane for 30 seconds and it started cutting out and then It would clear up and then it just died ? I am guessing water in gas or being that i lwater found out that the owners of the place are handing the keys back to the place where I got the gas at?

Any ideas i would appreciate.

Pump out your tank....replace water seperator filter....replace with fresh gas...run boat awhile....change water seperator again....then go at night, and throw a brick thru the window of the gas place.

Default possible vapor lock

do some searching on here sounds like vapor lock.. There are 100's of us who all go through the same thing and many many articles in here,,, Try running your fans longer or open the hatch.. Some even need to let the boat idle for about 5 -10 min and then still run the vans and open the hatch... All this **** they put in the fuel, now along with better insulated eng.compartments are casusing eng.s to vapor lock.. I know of 4 others + mine that do the same.. There are fix's and there are also bulletins from Mercury on this subject... B.O.A.T. break out another thousand

Did you check for spark ? Did the kill switch lanyard get bumped ? My port motor wouldn't fire the other day...just turned over and over. Checked the kill switch...pushed the little plastic seperator up tight...and it fired right up.

ok, pulled the water and fuel separator and poured it in a glass and it was pure gas.....so I am going to get my spark tester.

Where is the Kill switch that you mention ?

You should have a lanyard that connects to you that kills the motor if you get thrown from the boat. Same idea as a jetski. Should be near the dash somewhere.
