Originally a friend ordered it and kept it a couple of years here on Lake Michigan before getting a divorce. From here I think it went to Ohio maybe. It had 502MPI's from the factory. I remember seeing on Graigslist or Ebay this past winter/spring for around 35-40K somewhere down south.

It was a repo'd boat that sold on ebay about 6 months ago and the dealer at LOTO bought it off ebay. It was listed for sale on OSO about 2 years ago.

it sold on ebay for 32k maybe a tad more but no more than 33k. I had a chance to buy it for 30k but passed.

The Volvos engines did not bother me but notice alot of mix match parts on the motors. Mercruiser crappy manifolds or mercruiser type aftermarket manifolds & risers, there is no way those motors are putting out 600 hp especially with those exhaust manifolds / riser combos. Also Bravo's outdrives (thats fine ) but All those Volvo's at that time came with DPX Volvo outdrives / transom assemblies with built in external steering kind like Mercruiser ITS. Maybe the Mercruiser motors were swapped out for the Volvos engines.

Just kept wondering why so many mix matched parts kind of like your typical repo pieced together. The price of this thru the current dealer ownership was close to 55 k at one time. Its been for sale now almost a year and the price has dropped.

They are not Volvo engines. They are Innovations and have always been advertised to bo 600hp. I doubt they are 600's though. It should run close to 90mph with 600's, but it has always been advertised as running 80mph which is what 500hp boats run. There have been other threads discussing this boat before.

Innovation Marine in late 1998 for about 3 to 4 years built all of Volvo Penta DPX engines. They had a DPX 500 & DPX 600. The Volvo DPX 600 looks somewhat the same as the motors in this the AT except the exhaust manifolds inwhich to me looks like stock OEM Merc or a copied aftermarketer by the pic.

If these AT motors are not Volvo motors they sure are a close and most likely are close internally also. You might be right about not being per say Volvos because I see the Merc drive lube res. and I know the Volvo's did not have them.

Innovation Marine & Volvo Penta engine Specs as I remember because I have worked on this type of engine plus even talk to them (Innovation) about the Volvo DPX's just recently and in the past.

Volvo Penta DPX 500 / 8.2 - 502 based - propshaft HP 475
comp ratio - 8.8:1, max rpm 5200 - weight over 1200 lbs (memory forgets but can look it up )

Volvo Penta DPX 600 / 8.8 -540 based - propshaft HP 560
comp ratio - 8.8:1 max rpm 5200 - weight over 1200 lbs

These Volvo / Innovation built motors were bullet proof in there day. They did have a problem with the DPX drive. Sorry for thinking these were Volvo's but they could pass for them.

When I was researching a 33 AVS Scarab with the Volvo 600, I heard that the DPX drives were pretty stout. Is this not the case? The concern I picked up from most is that parts/service might be an issue to get for them.

I closed the the deal on the 32 last week. I made the dealer a offer close to what he paid for it on ebay on new years day. He decided that he was ready to move the boat rather than set on it till spring.

I had the engines , drives checked and a sea trial by a blue motor tech and a survey the only thing that they could find wrong with it was that it needs external steering with these engines over 4600 RPM.

I have been 3 years getting right deal on a boat , this will be quite upgrade from my 26 foot checkmate. I have watched this offshore market since things crashed in 08. There has been a lot of comments about a 37 AT. that has been on market for a while and why it hasnt sold. I have watched the deals on offshore boats for 3 years , most boats are selling are going at least 20% or more below NADA. blue book low retail or they are not moving. Before 2008 it would have been unbelievable that boats would sell at these low prices. It is a great buyers market , but not a good time to sell.
