Default 89 10 meter stock 454 where to start for power upgrades

I have a 1989 10 meter with bone stock 454 mags. I was wondering where do I satrt to add more power. Exhaust? carb? intake. Any input would be aprreciated .

it runs in the high 60's . not sure how fast i want it to go.

Terry you are right i should just leave it alone it does start and run good everytime i take it out .

Leave it alone, and use it all the time. If you feel the need for more speed, then buy one that's already built for that. It'll be a never ending orseal of adding more stuff into the engines and pouring way more money into it than it's worth, only to find out that you could've bought another boat for all the money you invested into the current one.

I agree with 10x, leave it alone and ride. Once you start putting motors in then it's transmissions then drives and the list goes on and on and on. Ask me how I know everytime you think your done it will be something else.

370,s or 420,s?myself,i took my 370,s out and putting in 496,s.boared and stroked 454,s.staying with a mild hyd cam.the biggest expence for your set-up is going to be a decent set of exhaust for the motors.if you have 420,s the exhaust is going to be better than the 370,s.

Good choice. Its a never ending deal.

Those boats are not light & takes a lot of power to run fast.
Also you x dimension is a very important factor in speed.
