I owned a 28 Pantera and now have a 32 AT. I have also been in a 25 AT. The 25 AT is a lot deeper than my 28 Pantera was and my 32 is a whole LOT deeper yet. Probably about 18" deeper at the helm and a foot deeper in the back seat. The 25 AT was not quite as deep as my 32 from what I remember, but still a lot deeper than the Pantera. The actual amount of floor area is about the same in my 32 as the Pantera 28.
I'm 5'10 also. Here are some pics with me standing in both boats.

Griff - thanks for the pictures. I have two boats potentially available to look at .

One is a 25 AT other is a 28' Pantera w / twin BBC.

The Pantera is 'more' boat but has more possible issues with two engines, another thing I was concerned about is the free-board. I was turned on to the AT 25 because it is a tad bit smaller cockpit, but deeper freeboard and single engine (less headache) and more space to tinker.

I run on Lk. St. Clair and possibly every once and a while into Lake Huron up to lexington (maybe 30 min) ride on Huron. So I think the 25 AT may be better suited.

The 28 Pantera also does not have the swim platform or sunpad -- it may be too much of a race boat to hang off the back in the bay areas.

Sorry for the rambling -- but right now I'm leaning towards 25 AT over 28' Pantera with Twin BBC

both are great boats. the 25 AT is a great riding boat for the size. The cabin is nice as well. I have quit a bit seat time in 25 AT - and its a boat you can feel comfortable sitting or standing. The 28 pantera with twins will definatly give you a better ride in rougher water. I dont think you will notice the freeboard feeling unsafe in the pantera. if you have not done so, go look at both boats... the only way you will know for certain which boat is right for you is when you rub it, touch and see it in person.

Thanks Chris. Right now I'm leaning on the AT. Especially with the sunpad, swim platform on the AT.

The 28 Pantera is no doubt a better ruff water handling boat, but without a sunpad and swimplat, I may be shooting myself in the foot - especially since the wife and friends will be complaining.

We boat on a excalibur 24, sunpad but no swim platform, it is a pain for the women on and off the boat when in the water. They are not excited about placing there foot on the outdrive...me not an issue.

Any issues/grips that you had with your AT?

none - the 25 really is an awesome boat. my wife always like the ride of it in rough water. said it felt like landing in marshmallows - (translation - sof ride). the cabin is big enough to sleep 4 adults (we have done it) the cockpit is a nize size giving passengers in the back seat a nice secure feel.

I am 6' and 220lbs, cockpit is still pretty roomy, little tight between the bolsters with the extra 30lbs since I bought it. Also the cabin door is a little snug these days, but the ride is great in Lake Ontario slop. Comfortable with plenty of room standing or sitting when driving....even loaded with the in-laws, great boat for the size.
