Default graphite paint

has anyone used it on the bottom of their boat
i seen it today on the bottom of a drag boat
i asked the guy wat it was as it was verey very slippy when wet and would rub off with your fingers . he never told me but his 15 year old son told me it was graphite paint and that they apply it before every race

doesnt sound very practical.

Might as well coat the bottom of the boat in lard.

The application on an everyday performance boat wouldn't even be noticeable. On a drag boat might give them tenths of a second. The difference between who wins & who lost..
