Default Donzi Classic vs. Donzi Minx

Is there a thread that explains the differences? If not, can anyone cover the major ones?

I came across a Minx the other day sitting in a field rotting away. Sad sight & now I have ideas running thru my head.

The Minx was a 20' "Classic" of limited production that fit between the 18 and 22. I would say it is more similar to the 22 Classic. Restoring a hull in the condition you described can take years and cost a fortune. Usually not worth it unless you enjoy that kind of work. You will find everything you need and want to know on Donzi.net and Donzi.org.

Thanks thirdchildhood! I get it now, it's all about size.

I have no idea what condition this boat is in as it's inside a fence. I'll probably never have anything to do with it, unless I get it for free. I'd love to have an outboard boat for running around my local river as opposed to the big boat. With the success we had strapping OBs on the latest 33AT, I wonder what a "Classic" would do with an OB...

All the wood is probably rotted. The guys on the Donzi forums would love to discuss it.

If I end up with a small Donzi, I'll probably aim for a 16'.

Brian,

Check over on Donzi.net, most likely they know the boat. Minx's are cool, but you could probably buy a solid one for a decent price rather than restoring one.

although it's based on a classic hull design, the aft deck is totally different. as in the engine cover is squared off and not as sleek as the classic's
Still a nice looking boat, but different.

Love the Donzi 16 'baby' (outboard). Anyone want an inboard project, this came up in the classifieds a few days ago. Has potential.....
