Default 95 mph 36 outlaw

Ran into a 36 outlaw on St Claire river today, thing ran mid 90's, I was on the rev limiter turning my 30 labbed hit 97 at one point and I had maybe 2 mph on him. He tore me up though in the Criss Cross chop between the sea walls and the mouth out into Lk Huron (when I had to let off). What kinda power does it take to turn a 36 outlaw 95-96 mph, he told me that it had 1500 hp (i assume would be twin 750's) but I would think it would take a little more than that. He came up on me first and he thought he was going to stomp me, he told me "it was the FASTEST LITTLE BOAT HE HAD EVER SEEN" Smitty

I would think, or hope, that 2 x 750 would run it that speed... formula 382 with 700's are in the same speed range if I'm right...

The 36 with the 900's & 6's ran about that fast.

Thats sorta what I was thinking, wasn't sure if 750's would get a 36 into mid 90's. Not sure if he was down playing his hp a little because got spanked by a not as cool "little" 272, I'm sure others will chime in though, Smitty

I know a 36 with 600SCI's run 83-85 with a good set up, so 92-94 dialed in, is about right with 1500 hp.

XT you wanna get in on this?

Not really, but I bet the boat had the light weight cabin option with Simpson netting for seats, and deckolite stringers. Most normal 36ol's are wave crushers, and not speed demands.

It was a great race, I would rather run someone who goes about the same speed as me even if I were to lose than just stomp on 80 mph boats (unless they are azzes with attitudes). I had my boat aired out thru some pretty nasty shiit, I don't think Ive raced someone that fast in nasty chop without backing out, all I was thinking was I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT LIFELINES ALREADY, Smitty

I can tell you that boat had to have the bare bones cabin and at least 900 per side to run into the 90's. And somebody spent some time dialing that thing in for sure.

The second I saw this thread I thought of your boat. I knew it was going to take a helluva lot more than 750 per side to see those numbers after riding in yours.
