I want to install a DVD monitor in my boat. I am buying a DVD/CD player from Sony but wasn't sure what type of monitor to get to be able to watch DVD's on the boat and how to power it.
I dont want TV just to be able to send the DVD signal to the monitor if I put a movie in. Any recommendations on screens to get would be helpful. I want something between 15-17"

Pretty simple really. Any LCD flat-panel monitor with HDMI input is all you need. Be certain your player has an HDMI output (most do now). 1 cable for both audio and video. You'll need an inverter with sufficient Wattage to supply 110 VAC to both devices.

The player I was going to use was a car stereo in-dash type. Not sure what the output cables are for the TV monitor. Do they have HDMI on those?

Not sure where you would put it, but the in ceiling flip down dvd players are a nice all in 1 alternative.
