1999 K1500 Suburban towing capacity
Does anybody know what the towing capacity would be on a 1999 k1500 suburban with 350 engine and 373 gear ? I don't have the manual and the sticker on the drivers door is missing. I have been told 6000 lbs. I think that is to low. My 2002 trailblazer can pull 5600 lbs.

Take a look in the above thread. I would not tow more than 6500lbs with a burb. It just does not have the abillity to do so safe. And if possible, run a good elec over hyd. brake setup on the trailer.

The problem with a Suburban, is that we never tow with the TRUCK empty. You then have to worry about the COMBINED weigh rating. Tow/weight ratings are calculated with an enpty truck, and no cargo.
2 adults, 2 kids, luggage, dog, coolers, etc etc. You will max out that Sub even towing 5500#. Also, don't believe anything you read on what your rig weighs unless you are reading a scale ticket at a truckstop.
IF, you are going to tow with this setup, I HIGHLY recommend Firestone or AirLift aftermarket air springs, as the factory coil springs suck for towing stability.
