Default Donzi Z25 keel damage from beaching

I have a 87 Donzi Z25 that has a small hole 1/2 in long and 1/8 in wide in the keel right at the dead rise. 24 years of beaching has worn the keel down to fiberglass and how a hole. What is the best way to repair? Getting to the inside is going to be a B!tch. I'll try to get some pics posted.

Glassdave, The inside of the bow is in great shape and I was hoping that I would not have to open it up, but the look on your face tells me otherwise.

24 years of pulling up to the beach has taken a toll.

You are going to have to get inside the hull to fix that. The entire area is worn thin.

Else, you are going to have to redo a swath on the bottom of the boat at least 12-16" wide to add enough fiber to make it strong. Then you are actually talking about altering the shape of the hull.

Ok, I've opened up the bow and guess what, the hole is located under the runner that supports the bed. This runner is 1.5 inches thick. I cut a 17 in square hole in the bed platform to get access and no hole was found in the keel. The hole does not go all the way through. It looks like there was an air pocket in the fiberglass when the boat was built. So, what do I need to do to repair? Boats are so much fun.

The first 3 pics are of cutout of floor looking towards bow inside cabin. The other 2 are looking through hole cut in bed looking aft. The hole shown in the 4th pic was cut so I could insert inspection camera into compartment under the bed. If anyone wants to call me to help a brother out please call me at 980-622-5371.
