Here are some initial pics of the work being done at Predator Powerboats in Patchogue, NY

The balsa work is a lightweight hatch. Will have twin scoops when done.

Can't wait to see the paint scheme that's been planned for this beautiful race-conversion hull

That was my old boat. It was the original ocean spray boat. Me and mark shnef stepped the bottom about 10 years ago.Built pair of 1100 and ran well about 125.

I was just racking my brain looking at that bottom wondering if I had missed something... haha! Cool boat! Is it me (or the angle of the pics), but is there not much deadrise at the stern?

We never changed the deadrise.Mark just cut section of bottom out then cut the sides and stringers up 2 inches and put the bottom back in.Boat road ok to 110 but then was alittle scarry.

Wow......very cool......I was wondering myself about the step....... Curious how much speed did the boat gain from step being added ? Or did you guys add the big power at the same time ?

We added power at the same time. But i spoke to ocean spray guys they had paul pauff build motors, and the power they told me they had it seems that we picked up about 8mph. At the time i think it cost me 10k to step, that worth 8-10 mph to me.

The new light-weight hatch was pulled from the mold and fitted on the scarab. Two scoops have been placed on the hatch. Since this is a staggered configuration, the scoops will be staggered as well.

The topside deck has been grinded and the dash has been cleaned up as well. He will start redesigning the dash soon following the owner's wishes in design.
