Default V-Hull Single Arneson drive - Who's running one?

Ok... I'm looking at picking up a 26' Corsa with a Arneson 1721 surface drive on it. It was rigged new with it when it was built in 1985 with a Gale Banks twin turbo big block (was told it had about 800hp). Boat has been sitting for over 15 years in dry storage and now has no engine so no water test on how it runs.

I'm looking for anyone running a single Arneson surface drive on a V-hull. Looking for impressions on how the hulls run, any issues you may have run into if any, and any info whatsoever.

Also If It does not turn out well with the Arneson... how hard to convert back to a regular outdrive setup? Bravo, Konrad, or the like.

Just looking at options.

As hinted to you in your other thread. If you down grade to a Bravo setup, be prepared to lose speed and spend money on drives. You need to talk to some of the prop guys like Bblades ect. and Arneson fx Rik, to find out what is possible. Props have come a long way since 1985. I see no reason why it should not work.

I'm just a Little nervous on the surface drive, I know they are stronger than a bravo setup but the more I look into the arnesons I hear the hulls have to like that type of drive to work well. Heard they like a little rocker in the bottom to get some air under the bow.

Just looking into all aspects. I do not want to go back to a bravo setup, I'm just looking into worst case scenerio. As long as the survey on the boat comes out fine I am going for it. I can't believe the boat has been sitting that long.

Thats not the right boat for an Arneson. A steped single vee would work a lot better.

They put an Arneson on a 28 straight-bottom AT. I hear they are still trying to get it right after many years...

I have a pair of 1721's - Upgrade the trim ram to the current one or turn it upside down if it's going to be raced or driven hard.
