Also, does anyone know if Powerquest vacuum bagged their hulls or decks? I have heard it both ways and have a "friendly" debate going with an owner of another make who claims they never did.

I have friends that build boats and have a friend that worked at Skater for a long time! Both are familiar with Powerquest and knew the owners. I would say no. Nothing has ever been mentioned about them doing that. But I could be wrong...

Not allways the best way..if you do it wrong you could have major issues..

All PQs were hand laid...last time I was at the factory Phill was building the first vacoum bagged hull..a 320 cruiser but never finished it..

I thought the 38 with the one off deck was also bagged? (one of the unfinished ones currently in the plant)

the last 38 (09) hull and deck were infused along with the 32 sc hull that is still in the mold.

the deck is the same deck just different air vents

I was told vacuum bagging was the best way to ensure that the balsa core would not be compromised if a leak into the core were ever to occur. Powerquest must do something right because I have never heard of a hull failure like we seem in some other cored hulls. One of the main reasons I went with the Avenger!
