I recently removed the Bennitt trim tabs from my Formula 292, and plan to install Mercury 280s K-Plates. I now have (4) 3/4" holes thru the transom and (24) small screw holes roughly 1" deep. What would I expect to pay a fiberglass shop to completely fill the holes and refinish the transom to like new condition. OR, is this a fairly simple task that I could handle myself?? Any help would be appreciated...thanks.........dave

roughly around one thousand barring any other issues off the top of my head. This is for a completely de rigged transom though. Its very difficult and time consuming to work around the rigging and could easily double the cost.

get yourself some dowel rod you can handle it yourself dont be skered

i would laminate the 4 holes inside and out and the 24 screw holes i would grind then fill with polyester resin mixed with milled fibers and cabisol then prep all areas for gel and spray and sand and rub . I assume the spay areas are about 2ft by 2ft so i say around $1000 is a close estimate
