Default bed insert for 302 and 38

I have seen a few boats that have a cushion for the centre of the horeshoe couch down below that make it into a bed. does anyone know if it was an option or did people just have them made? XT?

Would be great to be able to use the couch as a bed like the 30OLs.

Would've been custom made. It wasn't offered as a option on the 302

Correct, and it would need to be a pre 2002 model and not like your (Irish) newer style cabin area. The older 96' thru 01' 302's offered (4) interior options:

1) Four face to face seats.
2) Three seats and a galley.
3) Three seats and a head.
4) Two forward seats, head & galley.

Send me a cardboard paper pattern inbetween your seats, and we will make you a filler cushion.

Kragar, making one for your 302 is simple. Cut thee pieces of 3/4 wood. They will span the gap perfectly. Throw some foam on top of it and put a blanket over it. XT's cushion would look better.

Three pieces because they stack nicely on the floor inbetween the couches when not in use. I then used a runner carpet to cover them up. I sanded and duct taped all the edges of the wood so nothiing would snag the vinyl.

Tim,

Are these in your boat now? I will have to see this!

No. Something I did when I had a 302. The couch cushions lift right out on the 302. Perfect brace to span the distance between the two.

My bad,

Hinged face to face cushions do make it more of a challenge to design supports. You could always carry a couple thicker style air matrasses, and inflate them between the couches.
