I recieved a letter from Specialized yacht services, inc.
Stating that my documentation is due. They wanted a 75.00 renewal fee. Even had a no postage enevlope . I contacted the U.S. coast office. They told me Not to pay it. That its a big SCAM..You don't have to pay anything..ignore the letter..it does look offcial ..... Coast guard will send you thier reminder.. and you pay nothing... Be aware of such letter...

I've gotten like 3 of those. And the last one wasn't 75, it was 125.
It also correctly listed the make and model of my boat, too. I laughed it off and chucked it because my boat isn't and never was documented.
I wonder where they're getting their mailing list from?
What's the return address on your envelope?

I got one right before mine was up last month. Confused me for a second until i realized they were selling a service. This is the first boat ive had documented and my first renewal. What a load of garbage. I just bought a stamp and did all the "confusing" paperwork myself. I think i had to check a box that said "yes" please renew my boat for another year
