Default value of 2011 f350 1200mi

How much do you think is a good price for a f350 cc long bed single wheel 6.7 diesel truck with 1200mi that is mint stored indoors is worth. 42000 is what they are offering to sell to me. I think not bad but think 40 and below would be a better. I figure you can get a new one for 48 to 50. To me 42 is close enough to possibly just go new, but is right at maybe the decision point. whats your thoughts. I believe its XLT moderately optioned without navigation.

I have 2 11's.. F250-101k, F350-36k miles. The 350 is a LWB.. Sticker was 61k..and I was offered 45k.wholesale. I ended up keeping her vs getting a 12 model..plus Ive done a few mods to her. The XLT model is appr. 4-5 k less...so not a bad deal, it just depends if you want to buy a vehicle thats allready taken the depreciation..or spend the extra coin.. These new Fords are the best trucks Ive owned to date..

Allicat, your right, not a bad deal but 40 has a better ring to it.

Jassman, Your trucks are sweet! Big fan of diesel boats also.

At 42 i might look for left over 11's with incentives. To me if I have to pay 5-8k for new I will, but at the same time at 42 somebody else just ate the depreciation. Chances are they have anywhere from 36-39 into. Buddy has an f450 went in on trade a year later with under 20k on it, he paid 54 and wanted to give him 35 and his was a lariat. dealers are not friendly with big trucks on trade any more. I traded my 07 f250 for an 08 F250 and i got much better trade for the 07 then I did with the 08 for my F150. With gas prices and all, and with fords new half tons and the hemi having mega towing peformance now, i dont think they are as hot as commidity as they used to be. Dont let that scare you. Used diesels are hot buys for dealers everybody wants them because people can afford a 50k plus truck. I got my 08 F250 with 14k on it for 30k a year ago before I got rid of it.

I agree An extra 5-8k for a new one would be my choice . Thats why im thinking it would have to be priced below 40 for me to really consider it over a new one. The number i keep comming up with in my head is 37 -38 would be a good price with the 1200 mileage.

Agreed it's not a huge discount but sometimes a certified used will come with a better warranty than new.

Ford may have some incentives on left over 11's. I just bought a new Chevy Duramax with 0% financing and 0 down payment. made more sense than buying used.

0% is not always a good deal and more often then not your are paying for the interest in the price of the vehicle. usually they dont let you take incentives. Now when the incentives are like 500 bucks then 0% makes sense. But a lot of people are clueless and say well you get 0% thats money I can invest. really you are going to turn around and invest that savings, specially when interest rates are under 2% for vehicles.

Look at this way just picked up my F150 three months ago. Base price was 38, without incentives truck would have been 40k for a total of $666 a month. Add incentives truck was 34k out the door with an interest rate of 1.99. Car payment is 595 a month for total of 1500 in interest over the the life of the loan. So not only save 70 bucks a month on payment but save 5 grand on the total vehicle purchase. I had a trade mind you so the numbers are less butthe compartive in cost is still the same. Dont always be fooled by 0 percent and 0 down. 0 down is a nice one too, because I cant remember the last time i was required to put money down, and to top it off you never have a car payment for a month or two after you get it anways. And you can say well that money is gaining interest over the first coupld of months you dont pay, well yes you are right, but guess what my interest rate is 1.99 not going to get a lot of interest on that.
