Default Hawk setup questions

I am rerigging txhawk's old 40, it will not have boxes anymore,
Standard 1.50 ratio bravo 1 drives and 590 flywheel hp hawk big blocks with small blowers.
What is a good prop for this hull? This one does have a notched transom. I was thinking a 26p bravo 1? Anyone have any thoughts or input?

I would think that would be a good starting point since it used to swing 28 Hydros. May even try 25 hydros if you can find some available to you.

I wasn't sure how/ if the boxes and p5x props worked together. Not sure if there was any cup in the props for lift ? If they would still work well without boxes?

Call Brett from Bblades with prop questions, he can tell you over the phone what to use. Real nice guy too, he has a "phone blocker", so insist to speak directly to Brett, you'll get the best answer that way.

With 600 HP, this boat will still haul the mail for an old 40.....with an 8 person party in progress! Dont forget Sara's yellow bikini!! Looking forward to seeing you, Sara and all her friends this summer......

I'm sure you are Kevin ...... I'll give him a call I just hate wasting someone's time, chances of me buying 2 brand new props is pretty slim lol

I am anxious to hear how it runs without the boxes. I think the boxes were almost giving it too much leverage some times, carrying the nose too much. I had 28 B1's on it when it had about 630HP. They were nearly too much. 26's should be great.

Agreed on the carrying the nose thing. I think the 5 blades may contribute also. Sounds like Jamie may have a nice, reliable set up...
