Default How to find out Merc engine model year

Hello,

does anybody know how to find out the exact model year of a
Mercruiser 502 MAG MPI .
I have the numbers from the Metal plate near by the starter.
Serial # : (O)M021217 and (O) M021215, (maybe a the O in front, but is not written on the plate)
Cast#: 10237300 G200 and 10237300 G180

I found out that they must be 1999 and up.
I need to know from when they are exactly. They must go thru a Certification with the Boat here in Germany.

Thankfull for any help

Hans

Both of the serial numbers, 0M021217 & 0M021215 were manufactured on 10/12/2000. The model numbers for both are (4752227N1) MERCRUISER 502 MAG BRAVO MPI ENGINE ONLY, & we're registered new on 07/03/2001.

Hi,

@ lakematdude,

Very great, good that they are 2000 and newer.
Where do you have it from, i need to have a conformation or a printed list with data´s that the certification office can see by them self, that this info is true, not just written down.
Is it posible to get something like this ?

Thank you very much

Hans

You could try asking a mercruiser dealer to see if they would run the serial number's for you, Then maybe they could print or Fax a copy out for you/them, Or you could try calling (you're area?) a mercruiser customer service relations agent at MerCruiser to see if they could help verify by sending or phoning the certification office/You the necessary paperwork. Other than that, I'm not too sure.

Good luck.

Any Merc dealer can run the serial number and tell you what year they are and when they were put into service.
