Default oil thermostat not helping

Installed KE remote oil thermostat, gained maybe 5 or 10 degrees, now I'm at 140*. 509 with BM 250, revised cooling system with water entering motor at center freeze plugs coming out in front of intake with 2- 1 inch hoses and one each side of rear intake 3/8 hoses going to rear of risers. No thermostat in water system, also have no water temp. Talked to KE. they don't really understand it either, as they run all of their motors with an oil thermo and no water thermo. Is my cooling system working too good? What else can I do?

I feel for you man....I had the same problem with a blower motor a few years back I never got the thing to warm up worth a crap....cold blooded as hell it finally back fired sucked in some water and bent a bunch of stuff. That was the end of the blower motor for me.....but if your running the greatlakes the water is way cold yet this year....60 or less. I'm even having issues with my carbed motors with thermostats.Wish I could give you the cure but cant, good luck!

I talked to you sunday on the river, my stat worked great, oil lines got hot enough to burn your hand then cooled down once stat opened, no more condensation. I think you need to move your sender and put it in the oil pan to get an accurate reading on the gauge. you can call me at 513 407 6206 any time if you need any help Jeff

I run a KE oil thermostat and it works perfect. Once I get going at speed it gets the temp of the oil to about 215 degrees. It will come down at idle. Engine water temp really never goes up past 140.
