Default 200lb 3.0L 425HP V8

I remember reading about this engine the Hartley H1V8 a few years ago.
http://www.h1v8.com/h1h2pricing.html

has anyone put one into a marine application?

Time.

Two reasons why it hasn't been done might be 400hp@10,000rpm and 245tq@7500rpm. Might get a jetboat on plane but nothing much bigger...

well if you don't like Harley... Synergy is in the market too...

http://www.synergypower.co.nz/

They'll do up to 525hp in a similar package.

I suppose like the turbine engines using appropriate ratios would see adequate torque multiplication?

Hello;

Last few months we rapidly test 29 ft light prototype boat with similar 2,8 liter "our V8" and marinised engine, Mr. Cool cooler, MSA drive (300 hours service interval...), OFX5prop have 3.900 rpm...
Our engine have much more seriall parts (cranckshaft etc) than Hartley, each Suzuki service it is able to made service and price will be low enough too. It have enough torque and power at all rpm.
Weight of boat with all equipment, but with out of fuell it is less than 3800#. Al this with same comfort like in 29 ft cruiser, but with extra light wooden and carbon furniture. Fuell consumption it is fantastic low in all speed range, 65 gal fuell tank it is more than enough.
Combination work great.
It is primary fast and high economic travell boat, but if you want you have chance for adrenaline ride.
We hope that in 2012 we will have all CE certificates for engines and than we go on the european market.

Two small fotos, more infos in next months.
Interior it is prototype interior with bassic "crocodile skin" paint!

p.s.

Weight of engines it is not so low, but it is cca:
- 300 # engine
- 50 # exhaust 4/2/1 and dry inside!
- 200 # MSA drive
- 90# ZF gear
