Default should i remove my turbolators/

saw these online while getting a new sea pump.

should i just remove my turbolators or replace them with hardins?

gains expected?

i would think these would restrict the exhaust as much as the factory ones, removing them completely nets a 10 hp gain

thats a good question, not sure, i'm going to be removing mine here soon and have heard in more than one instance that you can reuse theold gasket if you remove it very carefully, there are 2 on each side, both sides of the turbulator, and only need 1 when these are removed so you could potentially have 2 spares in the end

Wht not just replace all the gaskets while the riser is off. I just orders all new gaskets from CP Performance for cheap

i wouldnt if they are gil's..they are their to keep the water droplets from getting sucked into the valves..

how do i know if they are gills? i here a clacking at idle from the risers.

these manifolds are designed by gil, there are alot of threads explaining this in detail, raylar himself said that in certain applications there is no risk in removing these and other applications there is a risk, depends on your exhaust routing, if the boat is kept in the water and whether its fresh or salt, each person will tell you different opinions so check out these threads and decide if your boat and boating style will permit the removal

I think the speed gain would be little if any but would it be easier on the engine and lower egt's?
