gas prices/where to ship Superboat for sale/vac
hi folks I am planning on shipping my 30 foot superboat and trailer somewhere in the islands. I checked out Venezuela on the theory that gas is so cheap it would be fun, but its too corrupt and dangerous. I am looking for suggestions on practical destinations out in the carib, such as Antiqua, Bahamas, Jamaica, etc. I have visited quite a few over the years and frankly, am terrified of ripping my drives off on some bit of reef. thanks, john
I want to romp the boat for a while with chicks and friends so there should be some scene and then sell it and spin the money into a small sail boa
Will be shipping RORO out of nyc area

BVI or St Martin probably your best bet... antigua is pretty isolated for a 30 foot boat you would be stuck in one spot unless you are comfortable running in open water between the islands closest one is around 50 miles away i believe

its real close to Venezuela for cheap gas , yes isolated, but I have no problem crossing from island to island 50 mile stretches. Looks like BVI or USVI might be the best, and I am familiar with them. Ok, which one gets the most comercial shipping traffic from the NY area. I am going to start a Trididad/Venezuela thread. I think my range is about 200 miles with 460 HP 400s and an 80 gallon tank. I could use some advise on calculating range in hours and or miles I need to consult my dyno sheets for Gallons per hour and RPM etc.

I agree with the other posts, you will be able to do a lot of good, safe boating in BVI and USVI. You could possibly also look at Grenadines. I don't think you have enough boat to start south in Trinidad and island hop to the North. You're talking about some serious open water runs.
