Default steering clearance

i'm in the process of installing an imco steering kit and my clearence to the swim platform is 1/16" i had to sand about an 1/8" off the drive cap to clear the "hook" on the edge of the swimplatform so the drive tilts fully, i have more material i can remove but now the issue is with the clevis, it clears by the 1/16", is this ok, or is this too close for comfort, i know the drive should not move but i just want to make sure i cover all bases, only way it would hit is if the drive moved back away from transom that little bit, i guessing if it clears period then i should never have to worry again, thanks in advance

you are only going to be tilted that high when the engine is off so there is no load or stress on anything to make the transom move. if you are worried that the gimble or drive may move back then you have another problem to deal with. the gimble would only move if the transom is rotted or broken.
