Default Security systems...Questions

I am thinking about adding a security system to my garage for boat storage. I dont have a phn line out there. Is there a system that can use wireless/cellular? Give me some insight into this guys.

My home security system uses a Cell activated alarm. Most companies can provide this as an options. I believe in my case it is only 5 bucks a month more to use there Cell Radio instead of a POTS.
I use Vector Security.

Cell is an option. There are also a few using the network now.

i have a radio gsm backup on my business locations, meaning i use a land line, but if someone cut the phone lines the gsm would still send a signal out. I think it was like 300 bucks iirc.

You could install a GALTRAC GPS tracker in your boat and connect the alarm notification to alarm devices in your shop.

This way you could cover the building and the boat in case they took off with the boat before anyone could get there.

If you have a wireless internet signal, Logitech make some neat systems, available at BestBuy. Web-accessible cameras with motion-sensing, IR night vision and progammable mobile alerts. The cameras communicate to the system hub through the 110VAC system, so installation is pretty painless.
