Default Easier way or product for painting small pieces?

Just curious, I made a few small pieces for my dash and need to primer and paint them black. I am not really set up to paint, dont want to have to buy a bunch of product to do a couple square feet total. Any ideas or tips on products.

A local autobody supply place by me will mix up any color and put it in an aerosol can. I had surprisingly good results with it. I used a single stage to touch up a few spots on a boat, even the color was spot on (thanks to the guy who mixed it) came out better then a lot of other repairs in my marina. Might be something to look into.

Take them to a body shop by you. They will have all the stuff to do it right. If you were closer I would just do it for you, its what I do...

Can,t powdercoat, they are wood with fiberglass over them, and also need to have the same color/finish as the dash. I have a couple body shop friends but the last few things they did for me havent held up all that well. I personally think it is because they use automotive base/clear instead of a marine use paint like Imron or Awlgrip. I would shoot them myself, but I dont have the equipment or space to do it anymore, plus like I said I dont want to buy 200 bucks worth of product and consumables.

Bc/cc vs Imron shouldnt make much of a difference on dash pieces. Can you post pics?

I've had good luck going to my local Finish Master paint supplier and had them mix me up some single stage Dupont ChromaOne or PPG paint. (depending on color) I do my prep work, put down a primer out of a can, sand and then paint using this one time aerosol spray kit. It works surprising well for little things or if I am to lazy to break out my compressor and clean my spray gun. It works best before you get down to the last 1/4 of aerosol left. You can buy the kit and extra aerosol sprayers for $6 at your local Napa.
