Default 3m Premium filler

OK, so I am at the point where I have about 1/16"-1/8" to fill on the bottom so the hook is out and will have a straight bottom. From what I am gathering from the Data sheet I can apply this over the gel coat if sanded and prepped. Can I put this over gel coat??? I can not put it over Epoxy which I do not have.

Also have a friend working on his and he needs to fill about 1/4+" what the heck would he use to fill that. Put down more glass and resin? It says to use High Strength Premium filler for 1/4"

Good stuff, can be used over gelcoat, since Gel is POLYESTER, do not use over epoxy. I also would not use it 1/4" thick, that there would require glasswork, or at least a reinforced filler.

Just got 2 gallons in the mail. $78.20/gal from Amazon with free shipping. Best deal I could find.

Could you elaborate a little. I would like to refer him to this post.

Thanks as always, I will be watching this thread but might be dormant for a bit. I am packing the truck and heading up to the U.P. for a weekend of Snowmobiling! (that is a tracked vehicle that rides on the white stuff for you Southern folks!)

Did it come with the cream hardner? I wasn't sure if it did and 3m's website said it didn't so I bought some just in case!

Think he is talking about reinforced (fibers in it) body filler.

Gret stuff been using it for years and what makes it stand out from all other body filler is that it uses Vinylester resin instead of polyester .Polyester is the cheap stuff and it is forever shrinking . Just a tip , go to your local body supply house and pick up a few tubes of white hardner . Why ? Unless you boat is a dark color like black or blue it takes a lot to cover dark body work

No part number just simply walk into any body supply and ask for a few tubes white hardner . Only way to go in my world but you have to really mix it well as the filler and hardner are white . ANY white tube creme hardner will do
