Default One last Ford Truck Question?

I promise.

How many miles do you guys usally put on the power stroke before you put them to work towing?

What is the rule of thumb on this. You ask ten car dealers and you get 12 different answers.

I know this came up a few months ago on a thread but I cannot seem to find it.

Thanks Mark

Get in it and go. Don't worry about anything with these trucks.

Found this on Ford-Diesel.com but personally I think running through a tank of fuel should be sufficient.

I put 500 miles on mine before towing the boat (9500 lbs). I also changed the oil at the first 1000 miles.

Just went out to the truck and looked at the owners manual. It says 500 miles before towing and vary your speed for the first 1000 miles.

500 miles, then tow all you want. I change my oil when it starts to look black, not the typical 3000 mile mark.
