started looking at coolers for the new engine, looked at some aprox. 16 inches long 2 inch diameter with 3/4 inch pipe fittings. Is it neccesary to run the power steering through the cooler also, I use a synthetic fluid for it and I don't think heat is an issue? I would rather spend the money on a 3 inch engine oil cooler and not worry about the P/S. The oil pan is a 14 qt Gil
Any help would be great

you can get a short cooler just for the ps,just put it in line on the 1.250 water hose near the ps pump,or buy a oil cooler that has the ps cooler built in,mercury would not put a ps cooler on if it didn,t need it.

On the older Merc small blocks, Merc did not have an oil cooler but they did have a P/S cooler. You need a P/S cooler. We sell a 3" oil cooler with a P/S cooler.
