Instead of all these new motors, how about a Bravo replacement from Merc that can handle a 525,565,600?

That and a replacement for the headers that are shown on that motor.

The interesting question here is, how does the price compare to the 600SCI and the 525, also how does it compare in terms of rebuilds. My guess is, that there will be a replacement in 2013, latest early 2014 for the 600.
I like the look of it. Let's see if they have stepped up and installed high quality headers this time

Couldn't agree more. Bravos suck!

Sounds like a bigger better 525. Works for me.
I'd bet it will eventually replace both the 525 and the 600sci.
I think the Bravo 1 XR is only good to 600 so will still work as a good package.

Wink

Mercury Racing and Ilmor doing nice things to try and stay in a dead heat in the 500-600HP pushrod V-8 range engines that are emissions compliant!
Nice job done by both!
Price may be obviously a big factor in this economy.

I think there must be alot left here power wise thought as our Raylar 540 cu.in. reworked (HP525efi) HP675efi makes 675 easy HP and torque very close to that of the HP600sci ? I think again this is propshat horsepower which really puts the engine about 600HP crankshaft.

Congrats to Merc Racing and Ilmor for their nice new offerings, they obviously are doing ther homework and look to be bringing nice new products to market.

Curious what both these two new engines will sell for?

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar
