looking at 2003 eliminator daytona 26. question?

I just recently got out of wakeboarding and sold my malibu. I am looking to purchase a cat and have found one I am interested in. It is a 2003 eliminator daytona 26 closed bow. The boat has 147 hrs on it and is extremely clean. It has a Beck racing 540 with an 871 blower from the blowershop that was refreshed 20 hrs ago on it. Dyno sheets show it right at 950 hp and customer states it runs 108-110mph. Out drive was just recently gone thru and is a Bmax with hydraulic steering. I have the seller talked down to 48k on this boat which seems like a great deal. Seller has all recepits from when boat was new and is the second owner. I am a bit concerned about the hours on the engine, I really dont want to have to put more money into the boat for at least a couple years. What kind of reliability should i expect from this setup and how oftenb should the engine be refreshed? It seems like almost too good to be true for the money.

MJB , I'd be more concerned about how long the Max drive lasts behind that power.Local guy I know has a 26 with similar power and he ended up upgrading to #6 drive after many drive failures.If you end up buying this boat ,take it easy getting out of the hole and you should be OK for a while.It's a very nice package, you'd be happy with it.

Thats a great looking boat. Seller told me the only drive better than the max was the #6 as well. He also said the same thing, not to always hammer it out of the hole and the drive would be fine. sounds like this drive is much better than the bravos and as good or better than the imcos and teagues.

You should really check into this first. I had lots of problems getting covered with my 25' Daytona but I thought at 26' and bigger it is much easier.
As you mentioned, I would do a leak down for sure. In my blower motor the compression checks out fine but leak down sucks so I am getting ready to pull the heads and have them rebuilt.
