Default trim tab indicators stop at 3

My 98 29 fevers trim tab indictors and the trim tabs will go all the way down. But when raising them back up the indictors stop at position 3. The trim tabs appear to be level with the hull of the boat in position 3 but shouldn't they pass beyond that and go to 2 or 1?

They have stops on them to keep them from going all the way up. My 29 did the same. If you take them off it gets very squirly and chine walks really bad. My 35 did not have stops or my 42, but the 29 needs them.

My 27 stops there too, same reason I guess? I figured something was just wrong with the adjustment, but maybe not

If you look at tour tabs there is a coller around the ram that limits the upward travel

I took my stops off and mine go all the way up. I did not see any difference with the limiters on or off.

Yep you have stops on the tabs, might be one, or two sets on each tab. I take mine off and on, off when I know we are going to be running all out, and on when is more of a control day.
