Default what's the best way-state to get abandoned title?

i have seen a few boats worth considering recently. just stumbled across another one. anyone know the way to do it in jersey or if there is a nearby state that is easier?

If you have a copy of the most recent registration, You can get an Alabama registration (a non title boat state) by "selling" it to an Alabama resident. "Buy" it from an Alabama resident and apply for a title in your "Boat Title" State with a bill of sale and current registration from Alabama and presto...you have a boat title.

This works only if there are no liens on the vessel.
