I just built 2 496 stroker fresh water cooled marine engines we will be dynoing these in a few weeks just curious what you might think they will make for power and torque and @ what rpm?
This is the combo 4.310 bore 9.25 to 1 compression zero deck standard felpro blue head gasket SRP flat top 1 valve relief pistons file fit 1/16 1/16 3/16 standard tension oil ring, scat 6.385 4340 i beam rod, scat 9000 4.25 crank 781 heads 113 cc with 2.19 in 1.88 ex, hardened seats with little bit of bowl blend, unshrouded under the valve that was done with the valve job cutter. Camshaft is a bullet .223 in .231 ex .525 in .557 ex on a 112 cl installed @ 106.5 RPM air gap intakes with edelbrock 750 marine carb's with 5 degree wedge plates. Compcams roller tip rockers comp magnum pushrods internal zero balance. These are identical motors one is reverse rotation gonna try and dyno that one too. Lets see what you guys think thanks. BTW these are going in a sport fishing boat 34' lurs gonna have to reprop i know.

thanks i'll watch them for coming apart. more concerned on how much power and torque right now Blue Print engines has a sim engine that makes 460 hp 515 tq hope to be little higher than that. a lot attention to detail went into these engine i built them like a race engine balanced decked line bored all clearances bore gauged with extra clearance piston to wall guides and wrist pins these are full floating forged pistons.

The salt water boating environment is highly corrosive to everything. Take a close look at boats, houses and cars that live on or by the sea.
