Congrats to the brothers and I wish them well with safety and maybe some wins with a trophy. But the begging question is why??? For a sport that claimed their father and the possibility of the ruin of the sport due to the families legal action I have to ask why? What's the agenda? I have nothing but respect for Joey but I want to know why?...

Because, like many of us, for longer than we can remember, they wanted to race boats. They've had a couple of opportunites here or there but they had there first chance to race together in San Diego last year. With Joey there helping them they did a great job taking a podium finsh in there very first race. He was so proud of them!

Joey's death was a tragedy for our sport, hopefully it will lead to EVERYONE taking another look at the safety measures we all take every time we get in our boats......

Ryan Beckley hit the nail on the head: Because they've always wanted to race. They've been around the sport for 15 years and know how great it can be. And right now they have a nice platform to help promote safety within the sport. I wish them luck.

Thumbs up

Best of luck to Team Gratton!! It is a tribute to race in your Fathers honor and I would not have expected anything less from either one of you. The thing they have on their side is an Angel now that will be watching over them every time they enter the race course. Best of luck to you in the 2012 season and beyond!!!

I wish Blake and Brock Gratton a safe and successful 2012 race season and its great that you are racing in your fathers Memory. I remember watching him racing back in the late 1990's when he raced at the Ontario Place Challenge in Toronto, Ontario. Remember seeing the boys there with there mother back then. Good luck guys, your father would be extreme proud of you.
