I'm working on resurrecting my sweet 16 and I am planning on putting a reasonably powered 350. Somewhere around 325-350HP. I am looking at upgrading the exhaust and ran into a set of used gil stainless risers for a couple of hundred bucks. They were originally on a BBC, but I'm hoping someone can tell me if they would fit a SBC? Any thoughts?

most important; is the bolt pattern the same as base of stock merc risers? if not, then obviously they don't fit. then, those are dry-joint risers. you need to get the plug in front og the risers out of the manifolds to put a hose fitting in to plumb the water out of the manifolds and into the risers. that sweet 16 will like it better if you use aluminum int and exh manifolds. would take about 100 lbs out of the stern.

which manifolds are the dry joint? The factory or the gil?

the gil riser looks like a dry joint. turn it over and post a pic of the flange from underneath.
