jason,if it,s in your budget,go with hyd rollers,hp500 efi cams idle nice, sound great, and make good power till 5500 rpm, every now and then you can find them in swap&shop,or call bob madera, very helpful guy.

What exhaust do you have? You will need to stay small on the cams to prevent reversion with stock manifolds and risers. I still have not upgraded my stock exhaust and run a Isky Racing 270/280 mega Hydraulic. Cam sounds great and makes good power without reversion. http://www.flatlanderracing.com/iskycamsmarine.html

If you go any bigger you need Gills or headers to prevent reversion.

Yep I like reliability also lol! The cams your looking at should be good and reliable. I built my new engine and did not have the money to also upgrade the exhaust at the same time so that is why I went with the Isky cam. My engine made 407hp at 5200rpm with accessories and dyno headers. So with stock manifolds it probably makes about 370-380hp. It is a simple engine, 468ci, 9-1 compression, with 188 heads, roller rockers, Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock marine 750 carb, etc.

i use either the isky 270/280 mega hyd cam or comp cam xm270h..both are great cams but the comp cam sounds mean as hell at idle...both cams are jet boat cams and need 2* advance to idle nice but still have a lope to them..both are a strong midrange cam..

23p 3 blade Mirage had to much slip but spun to 5200. I bought a 25p Mirage Plus and only got 4500rpm but the boat was faster. I got a new 23p Mirage Plus that I haven't tried yet. I hope the extra cup in the Plus model is what I need to spin 5000rpm and get proper speed.
