Welcome to the site Mike. I also recently purchased an 86 - 272 and am fixing it up a "bit". (New center stringer, two new bulk heads, rebuilt front seats, some new vinyl, new engine cover, new out drives, one new transom assembly, new motor mounts, two new vortec 350's, repainting bilge, new rear seat wood, rebuilding two carbs, new engine intakes, new cabin layout and seating, new stereo, new lighting, new carpet, new instrument panels, new props, new trailer brakes, new trailer tires and some other stuff). A "bit" as I call it. Not much as it was "ready to run, just needed a good cleaning"... My project thread is on the formula site here, sure you will see it as I add information.

Go ahead and start a thread on your boat so we can all see what you do to it. Sprink58 is another one on here that will post and say hi, lots of good info from that one, very helpful. Sprink58 also started a thread for the old flat glass formulas, add pics there if you haven't. I need to get mine out of the shop so I can snap some photos and add it to the thread.

Thanks guys. I am always on my phone so I have to figure out how to post pics from iPhone. Right now overall plans involve full color change since I need to recover vinyl anyway. New gauges. Livorsi or merc zero effort controls. Id also like to do away with silent thunder platform and get a nice aluminum one an some reg exhaust tips. Everywhere I've checked structurally she is solid. Hopefully that lasts until it's time to do some motors.

She is currently the black silver burgundy color scheme. Like to go to teal (wifes choice) an white with maybe a hint of grey. Cabin is in excellent shape. Solid floor. Grey carpet a little dirty but all seats and cushions are in excellent condition. Haven't seen any noticeable leaks from the 4 hatches. Gonna get rid of refrigerator and make more storage.

Gotta question for someone. Where the sink is I have 3 square glass bottles with a pump on top. I was thinking soap but that would be way too much soap. Are these liquor bottles designed to squirt a shots worth with the pump? Lol

Default Huh????

Am I confused or is it just my goldfish rated memory?

Don't you have a 1987 or newer? SR1's came out in 87 I thouhgt. My 86 is a LS and had the one center hatch. Also thought the glass bottles came in the later years.

Round winshield or square windshield?

Sorry guys typo on year. I was looking at several boats. It's an 87. Complete brain fart. It is definitely sr1. Badges for it, 4 hatches on bow, curved windshield. Slapping my head as I type this.
